The CHDStd SI2 meeting will be open to everyone.
Following the
briefing, we will be available during ICCAD for
further
discussion and to any answer questions.

Background on standards discussed:
CHDStd
------
The Chip Hierarchical Design System Technical Data
(CHDStd)
standard program at SI2 is developing a comprehensive
design
information model and application program interface
(API) for
chip design. CHDStd encompasses design data for all
design
functions from front-end planning, analysis and
simulation during
HDL design, synthesis through detailed layout,
including physical
design planning, parasitic extraction, signal
integrity
verification, power analysis, timing analysis and
delay
calculation. The definition of CHDStd is under
management by SI2
and was developed from an IBM IDM data model and API
technology
that was selected in response to a Sematech/SI2
Request for
Technology (RFT).
- Further technical discussions on CHDStd will be
available during
ICCAD upon request.

ECIX
----
The ECIX (electronic Component Information Exchange)
program is
defining open standards for electronic exchange and
use of
component information, across the entire
find-try-design-buy-
build lifecycle, between EC supply chain companies.
These include
message protocol standards for the request and
exchange of
component information via the internet. ECIX
development is
currently focused of merging with the RosettaNet
consortium and a
recently announced pilot with VCX, VSIA, and others to
demonstrate its applicability to the virtual component
business.

LEF
--- Cadence Design Systems has assigned Si2 rights to license the LEF (Library Exchange Format) technology and an associated read/write software package to industry. Furthermore, the LEF datamodel will be used as the basis for current development work to extend OLA in support of cell physical characteristics.OLA
--- Increased demand for library accuracy and consistency across System On Chip (SOC) and deep submicron design flows has lead to development of an open architecture named the Open Library API (OLA). OLA is a comprehensive Application Procedural Interface (API) that can be used by EDA tools for the determination of cell and interconnect characteristics of deep submicron ASICs. OLA has been endorsed and approved by several consortiums and standardization organizations. OLA consists of the merging of two open and public standards; the Advanced Library Format (ALF), an OVI standard, and Delay Calculation Language (DCL) and Procedural Interface (DCL-PI), the IEEE DPCS standard, Part 1481. - For more information, visit: http://www.si2.org/olaSIPPs ----- The goal of the Standard Interconnect Performance Parameters (SIPPs) program is to develop an open industry-wide model that is tool-independent and provides electrically-accurate descriptions of semiconductor process information that affect interconnect performance. SIPPs will provide for the standard exchange of this information from semiconductor fabs to customer’s design systems, thus allowing a single definition of the process parameters to be used by multiple tools (e.g. extractors), and for extractors to be able to access process libraries from multiple fabs. - For more information, visit http://www.si2.org/sipps
