Subject: DASC: recovering from meeting confusion

Dear colleagues,
It appears that there was a communication failure in scheduling and
announcing the meeting for today. For that I apologise.
What occurred today was a DASC Steering Committee meeting. The minutes will
be posted on the DASC web site in the next few days. After the meeting
adjourned (due to loss of quorum) there was an informal discussion of the
proposed revised procedures. No decision was made regarding adoption or
otherwise.
I am aware that there are members of DASC who would like an opportunity to
discuss the proposed procedures and governance review in a live forum (as
opposed to email). In the interest of enabling participation by all
parties, we will organize a live forum in the very near future. Notice will
be given by email to this list. Ballot on adoption of the procedures will
only occur after that forum.
Once again, I apologise for the confusion that has arisen, and am
endeavouring to ensure that all voices are given an opportunity to be heard.
Thanks, and best regards,
Peter Ashenden
