Re: Invitation to candidates to post position statements

Peter:

I do not think it's a matter of much extra time from you.
Cutting and pasting four statements into a ballot takes less than one
minute.
I hope that you did not over-simplified the process because you did not
have enough time to volunteer.
Not willing to do it according to P&Ps and established non written,
but obvious, procedures might become a problem. After all, because any IEEE
election
ballot includes statements, and because all previous DASC elections where
more than one candidate was nominated for a position used calls for position
statements might invalidate your work anyway. Instead of leading to that
complete waste of time, a one minute solution would fix the problem
and save everybody a lot of time.

Best of luck,

Alex Zamfirescu

P.S. Peter, thank you for helping with this. I hope you will find the minute
to do
it right. It is true that for higher level positions in the IEEE,
 statements, summary CV-s
and even pictures are included in the ballot. Contrasting that with nothing
for
the DASC officers might not convey respect. Even when people
chose horses for a race bet, they have a written statement about their
previous performance.
